Butterfingers — American Breakfast in Seoul

I think most foreigners who have lived in Korea for a while have heard of Butterfingers Pancakes. This place is the American breakfast haven and brunch Mecca in Seoul. There are quite a few good breakfast and brunch places in and around Seoul. However, none of them can quite stack up to Butterfingers. In fact, this is the only spot that can really compete with breakfast food served in the states. The lunch and dinner items are not as delectable. I was disappointed with their meatloaf and veggie soup for example. However, I wake up on certain days with massively intense cravings for their fluffy pancakes, french toast and biscuits. I am always impressed with how consistently perfect everything tastes, and I always leave completely satisfied.

The prices are pretty high, but the portions are huge. My suggestion is to go there, share your food and go half on the bill with friends. If you order the split decision plate, for example, there is plenty to eat for two people, and each of you will only have to pay a little over 10k won for your meal. Another tip is to order your dishes a la carte. I usually order a stack of pancakes for 4k won and seasoned potatoes for 3k won, which is a perfect breakfast for under 10k won. Butterfingers is also known for their incredible desserts and drinks. You can skip breakfast all together and just go there with your friends when you have a sweet tooth. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ 😊 ☺

Please note that the waiting time is extremely long during peak breakfast and brunch hours — especially on the weekends. Try to get there before 10am or after 3pm on the weekends. You will likely have a one hour wait time during their busiest hours between 11am – 2pm. Butterfingers has several locations including: Gangnam, Bundang and Apujeong. Just do a google search or a naver search for directions to the location of your choice. The next time you are craving some good ole’ American breakfast food, I suggest that you give Butterfingers pancakes a try. πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ 😊 ☺

Gangnam location >>> Take Line #2 (Green Line) to Gangnam Station. Exit at #10. From Exit #10 — walk straight to the first corner. Turn left at that corner. Continue one block past Burger King on your left. Butterfingers Pancakes is right after Burger King on your left.
